Dr Ng Kai Lyn is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with over a decade of experience in the field, with sub-specialty expertise in urogynaecology and minimally invasive surgery, as well as a clinical interest in fertility. She obtained her medical degree and Masters of Medicine (O&G) from National University of Singapore (NUS) and is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (United Kingdom), with full specialist accreditation in Singapore.
In 2019, Dr Ng was awarded the prestigious Healthcare Manpower Development Plan award by the Ministry of Health and completed a Urogynaecology Fellowship at Taiwan’s eminent Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Taiwan – an International Urogynaecology Association (IUGA) accredited institution, where she furthered her skills in female pelvic medicine, overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, obstetric anal sphincter injuries and trained in the latest surgical techniques in pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic floor reconstructive surgery. Prior to joining ACRM, she worked as a consultant in National University Hospital (NUH) as well as a visiting consultant in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. In addition to her daily work as an obstetrician, she has amassed vast experience in managing and treating benign gynaecological conditions including uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometrial polyps, endometriosis as well as fertility issues.
A firm believer in education and research, Dr Ng has devoted time outside her clinical work to hold multiple academic positions including that of NUS School of Medicine Undergraduate Teaching faculty, Chief Examination Invigilator, Clinical CoreFaculty for NUH PGY1 Residency Program, principal site investigator for multinational novel drugs for uterine fibroids as well as co-investigator for prospective studies of women’s mid-life urogynaecological health issues, amongst others.She has sat on the organising committees of both local and international medical conferences including bringing the 46th IUGA conference to Singapore, published in top peer-reviewed journals with international collaborators, and is a recipient of NUH O&G Teaching Excellence Award.Being one of the few Asian trainers who has successfully completed the IUGA PROTECT (Prevention and Repair Of perineal Trauma Episiotomy through Coordinated Training) program, she has held regular workshops in this for trainees and specialists alike, received awards for quality improvement projects that she has led in NUH, and contributed to authoritative undergraduate O&G textbooks.
