Experience the remarkable journey of Ash and his grandfather Atok as they conquer type 2 diabetes through unconventional methods, showcasing the power of love and determination over adversity.
Dear friends and colleagues,
I'm excited to share a heartwarming and inspiring story that touched my life profoundly. It's about Ash, a 22-year-old young man with autism, who battled type 2 diabetes alongside his 80-year-old grandfather, Atok. This journey of triumph and resilience taught me the power of love, education, and determination in overcoming life's toughest challenges.
Atok, who had lost his daughter to diabetes, sought my help for Ash. He didn't want his grandson to suffer the same fate, fearing a life dependent on medications. Together, we embarked on an unconventional approach focused on food education and behavior modification. No medications!
Addressing Ash's autism and obesity required patience and understanding, but the determination in Atok's eyes fueled my motivation. We broke down preconceptions about autism and learning disabilities and got to work.
Over the next three months, Ash's transformation was nothing short of miraculous. With Atok's loving guidance, he embraced healthier choices and balanced nutrition, shedding 13 kilograms. His fasting blood sugar dropped from 9.1 mmol/L to 5.4, and HbA1C improved from 7.9% to an astonishing 5.3%. We also managed to normalise his cholesterol levels, all without medication.
Witnessing Ash's resilience and unwavering commitment filled me with pride. Despite his challenges, he showed that anyone can overcome adversity with the right support. His journey reaffirmed my belief in personalised care, adapting treatments to suit each patient's unique needs.
This heartwarming story serves as a beacon of hope for us all. It reminds us of the power of love, understanding, and the human spirit to conquer even the most formidable obstacles. Let Ash's incredible journey inspire you to embrace new possibilities and challenge assumptions in your practice.
Type 2 Diabetes is reversible! High cholesterol and obesity can be managed non pharmacologically as well. My first cohort of patients who are now 5 years free from diabetes and medications maintain excellent blood work, proving that this method of treatment is sustainable in the long term as well.
So what's standing in your way? If Ash and Atok can do it, why not you?
