Dr Hafizah Zaharah Ahmad studied medicine at University Kebangsaan Malaysia and subsequently pursue Master programme in Clinical Oncology, University Malaya in 2007. She has served various oncology centres in government hospitals before being appointed as a core team member at the Institut Kanser Negara in 2013. Dr Hafizah and her team, started Image guided brachytherapy for gynecological malignancy in 2014, which is also the first in Malaysia. She is the team leader for Stereotactic Radiosurgery/ Radiotherapy, as well as helps to start Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy service for spinal metastases. As part of her focus, Dr Hafizah provides Breast & Endocrine malignancy multidisciplinary treatment approach.

Dr. Hafizah is a Principal-Investigator and Co-Investigator of clinical trials involving Targeted therapy and Immunotherapy for lung cancer, breast cancer, gastric & gastroesophageal junction cancer, and renal cell cancer. She actively participates in investigator initiated trial on 'The needs of cancer patients in Malaysia', 'Quality of life, social support and spiritual well-being among cancer patients', and 'Resources use and cost associated with different stages of breast cancer patients’.

Dr Hafizah Zaharah is also a development group member in Clinical Practice Guideline for Colorectal Cancer and involved in the Ministry of Health Systemic Therapy Protocol.
