Dr. Leow’s passion in ophthalmology began when she worked as a part time eye clinic assistant during her secondary schooling years.
She entered medical school in National University of Malaysia (UKM) to pursue her dream and subsequently completed her Masters of Ophthalmology from the same university with merits. She was actively involved in eye research.
She had various presentations in both local and international scientific conferences with numerous travelling grants awards.
In recognition of her work, she was awarded the distinguished Prof Yasuo Tano Award in APVRS Japan.
She also has several publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Having served 13 years in numerous hospitals in Kedah, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and Johor, she brings with her a vast clinical experience to Optimax.

She is a dedicated, meticulous and caring doctor who strives to do her best for her patients. She was awarded ‘Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang’ by the Ministry of Health for her service and work commitment.
She is a comprehensive ophthalmologist; providing treatment for various eye conditions including diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, paediatric eye care, age-related macular degeneration, pterygium. She has a keen interest in cataract and refractive surgeries including multifocal and toric intraocular lens implantation, femto-second assisted cataract surgery (FLACS), customised Femto-lasik, customised Advanced Surface Ablation (ASA) and Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL). Dr Leow is currently based at the Optimax Eye Specialist Centre in Johor Bahru.
