Dr. Nor Zainura Zainal
Consultant Ophthalmologist, Refractive Surgeon
A highly decorated scholar and award winning researcher before joining Optimax, Dr Zainura graduated
from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1996 with Honours and High Distinctions. She earned
her Masters in Ophthalmology in 2004, sub-specialising in vitreo-retina, glaucoma and cornea.
Her years of experience in treating diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, eyelids and cataracts, gained from
her time serving at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital and Seremban Hospital, as well as her strong academic
and research background was instrumental to the rapid expansion of Optimax’s clinical services in the
Klang Valley.
Dr Zainura, who is currently based in Optimax Shah Alam, is also highly proficient in laser refractive
surgeries such as Femto LASIK, Advanced Surface Ablation/ LASEK, and ReLEx SMILE. She is also highly
experienced in phaco-emulsification (for cataracts), and also ICLs (Implantable Contact Lenses).
Dr Zainura is currently based at the Optimax Eye Specialist Centre in Shah Alam, visits TTDI and Klang.
