Dr Suraya obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of Glasgow, United Kingdom and joined Pristine Dental Centre in 2019. She moved to England in 2004 to a boarding school and moved to Glasgow, Scotland in 2006 for higher education and continued on to practicing as General Dental Practitioner in Scotland prior to returning to Malaysia in late 2015. During her years in Scotland, she offered her services within the mixed practice of National Health Service (NHS Scotland) and private treatments. Her special interests include restorative, cosmetic dentistry and selective minor oral surgery (ranging from whitening, root canal treatment, veneers, crowns and bridges including Family and Paediatric Dentistry). Her experience and work is translated and recognized through her Special Study Modules in Implantology (Glasgow Dental Hospital – consultant led), won an award by the Glasgow Educational Trust for her outstanding project in Management/Clinical Pathway of Cleft Lip & Palate (Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital, Colombo; University Malaya Hospital, Kuala Lumpur and Yorkhill Children’s Hospital and Glasgow Dental Hospital, Glasgow) and first Prize Winner for Oral Health and Improvement Project for Children (West of Scotland). She has attended various seminars, talks, masterclass and conferences in the United Kingdom and Malaysia. Dr Suraya has also given presentations and talks including being on the radio.

Dr Suraya is also keen on clinical management and efficiency by carrying out clinical management audits and assisted for the 17th Malaysian Association of Orthodontists International Scientific & Trade Exhibition and the 2nd Annual Conference of British Academy of Cosmetics Dentistry, Edinburgh. Upon her return to Malaysia, she served in the Ministry of Health as a Dental Officer in Kuching, Sarawak (Health Centre, Sarawak General Hospital and Hospital Bau). She was also registered with General Dental Council, United Kingdom, Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland and British Dental Association until 2015.

She has passion for teaching, arts and music – and definitely for food and travelling! Her experience being in boarding schools both in Malaysia and England from a young age and being abroad for many years gives her an edge to connect and relate to her patients who come from different walks of life. She aspires to be a versatile dentist and to become a specialist in her field of interest.
